There is unfortunately a bit of confusion around the term Event Marketing. Am I an Event Planner or a Marketing Professional? The answer is both. As an Event Marketer, I am able to combine my knowledge and experience in advertising with with my event planning skills and create truly meaningful, effective events. When I started my event planning business, I very quickly decided that I would not be planning weddings, anniversary parties, birthday parties, etc (though I have a MASSIVE amount of respect for the planners that do). My skill set is geared towards organizations, corporations, causes, products and brands. This can be anything from a themed activity, occasion, display, or exhibit. Events can occur online or offline, and can be participated in, hosted, or sponsored. I start with developing a strategy if one does not already exist. Understanding the client, who they are, what their voice is and what they are trying to accomplish all goes into the Marketing Strategy. The strategy then drives the creative design and event execution. This ensures that every aspect of the event is accomplishing your objectives and creating meaningful relationships with your audience.
